The management of Kibuye market had permanently banned cooking of food within the market with immediate effect.

The ban comes after good worth million shillings was destroyed by fire over the Easter holiday.

The market secretary for defense Richard Kibirige says the fire was mostly likely started by charcoal stove that was left burning over the night.

Kibirige says the committee is meanwhile looking for another space to relocate the food vendors as they are indefinitely been stopped from cooking within the market.
