Prison authorities are considering transferring suspects arrested during the walk to work demonstration by the opposition from Nakasongola government prison to upcountry prison for security concerns.
The commission general of the Uganda prisons service Johnson Byabashaija says decision stems from the opposition supporters who are planning to storm prison where the opposition leaders Dr. Kiiza Besigye and Norbert Mao and other several other supporters of DP activists have been detained.
This comes after the chairperson of FDC Luwero Bwanika Bale was arrested together with ten other members while driving to Nakasongola to visit the opposition detainees.
Byabashaija says they are considering transferring the suspect to prisons as far in Moroto, Kitara, Bushenyi and Mbarara for their safety.
