Members of Parliament are looking for a way forward in a bid to finding a solution to the impasse that is currently being experienced in the country.
Initially at the start of the Session, the Government presented a video footage that showed and depicted Dr Kiiza Besigye wielding a hammer and later spraying pepper to one of the Police officers, which was dismissed by the Opposition.
The MPs from the opposition side have insisted on solving the impasse first by releasing and dropping the entire misdemeanor charges that the victims are being charged.
Kampala central MP and Lord Mayor elect Elias Lukwago says that he has taken the trouble to carry out investigations and has discovered that all of the cases have no complainants.
He also notes that these are trumped up charges and Government will never produce any witnesses in the matter.
The House is looking for ways of building consensus in the matter. The Government has presented a paper with a number of steps that they feel with handle the culprits and perpetrators of the riots.
The Deputy Attorney General Fred Ruhindi has however challenged the position that the opposition are praying saying it would set a bad precedence.
He also argues that the Government of Uganda is the complainant in the matter.
The House has dismissed the amendment proposals and equally refused the unconditional release of those arrested during the riots.
