The legal officer for national security and information system Betty Nansanje says both the public and private sector employers will be instructed not take on any one without an ID issued by the govenrment.

Nansenje made the call while taking the bio-data for the deputy speaker of parliament Rebecca Kadaga.

The ministry of internal affairs and the Germany technology firm have already kick-started the registration exercises of the ID’s.

President Museveni kicked off the project last week when he became the first citizen to be registered under the project to receive a national Identity card and Identity number.

Among others, the national IDs are expected to help in tracking of information on all nationals as well as help in reducing crime in Uganda.
