The long awaited major opposition leader, Dr. Kiiza Besigye has landed at Entebbe airport this morning.
The Forum for democratic Change boss has been in Kenya undergoing treatment of assaults and chemicals sprayed on him by security operatives on April 28 in the walk to work demonstrations against skyrocketing prices of food and fuel.
Besigye has been allowed to meet the FDC entourage at Entebbe Airport VIP lounge but has been denied to address a press conference.
It has not been confirmed how Besigye will be escorted to his home in Kasangati and which roads he will use as the direct Entebbe road is busy with dignitaries invited for President Museveni’s swearing-in ceremony at Kololo airstrip.
Besigye was blocked from boarding a Kenyan Airway morning flight yesterday after the government of Uganda had said it would not allow any aircraft with Besigye on board to land at Entebbe airport.
Coincidently, the Retired Colonel has come at the same day President Museveni, his competitor in the February 18 presidential elections is swearing in causing a mix-up of supporters in Kampala.
