The race for speaker’s job has heated up after information indicated that the incumbent speaker Edward Ssekandi is standing again for this post.

The development now puts the number of contenders to three after the deputy speaker Rebecca Kadaga and FDC man Nandala Mafabi declared their intentions for this post.

Although Ssekandi is yet to publicly announce his bid, sources close to him told us that he has started lobbying again after getting a nod from Museveni.

Sources said that Museveni has hence forth summoned the NRM new MPs to discuss this matter of speaker and also what sources said his plans to announce a transitional government after he swore in yesterday.
