The FDC publicist, Wafula Ogutu is blaming the government for persecuting their party president, Kizza Besigye who has been denied his freedoms.
According to Ogutu, Besigye can not walk out of his home to go to work as security operatives are always on his gate to refuse him from proceeding to town and it is upon this matter that the party is demanding a clear explanation on this matter.
He also adds that the ruling party through its chairman is ready to amend the constitution to have a law on demonstrators with the aim of locking him up for a long time without facing justice.
Ogutu reveals that this will be made possible by the 9th parliament commencing Thursday this week following a presidential bribe to the NRM MPs at the weekend worth, 1.3 million Uganda shillings each that MPs received.
Early morning today, police surrounded Besigye’s wife, Winnie Byanyima and towed the vehicle she was traveling to Kasangati police station following an argument with security operatives who were forcing her to move back to her home.
Byanyima who has been traveling to Entebbe to board a flight back to the USAwas confronted by police in search for his husband Besigye whom they didn’t want to move to town.
She was later set free and preceded to her destination as earlier planned.
She also mentions that they are worried of Besigye’s life as a group of vigilantes came to their residence and filmed the whole compound.
