Disagreements have emerged between Kibaale district NRM caucus and its members upon endorsement of its candidate to contest for the post of speakership and deputy speaker respectively.
The disagreements rose from the failure by the caucs to allow councillors to elect a candidate of their choice. The councillor Muhoro sub-county Medard Muhumuza is among the aggrieved members who were unhappy on the way the process was handled.
Speaking to journalist shortly after the closer of the meeting that had been convened at Kibaale Hotel in Karuguza, Muhumuza accused the NRM caucus officials of forcing members to endorse candidates they don’t support.
The councilor and a group of others had demanded that the process be democratic by letting members choose a candidate of their choice other than the caucus dictating for them.
This was however turned down by the concuss officials who insisted on the candidate they had agreed on and forced them to endorse them. The caucus was chaired by the district NRM chairperson IDI Mulumba.
