The copies of the letter all the opposition accent to have received from the IGP ask the opposition leaders to beef up their security due to police reliable intelligence information that the Somali based Al-Shabab want to heat them.
Kayihura uses the same letter to advise the opposition leaders to take extra precaution for their own security at home, work and business engagement; a statement the opposition interpret as the IGP’s tactical muting of the walk to work and driving-riding hoot campaigns against high prices of commodities.
The letter also gives the option of the opposition leaders to seek for state security if they cannot improvise personally.
Some opposition leaders including Norbert Moa DP, Olara Otunu UPC and Sam Lubega Independent met at Uganda House (UPC headquarters) on May 25 and resolved to meet the IGP for clarification of the letter.
