The Mayor of Kampala Capital City Authority Erias Lukwago want parliament not to approve the appointment of Nasser Ntege Sebagala as the newly cabinet minister without portfolio until he handles over office of the mayor.
Lukwago has now written to the speaker of parliament seeking to block the appointment of Nasser Sebagala who is expected before the vetting committee of parliament for approval his appointment.
In his letter to Kadaga, Lukwago alleges that Sebagala continues operating as the city mayor at his home based at sezibwa. Lukwago also claims that sebagala is still in possession of city property he must hand over before he is vetted as minister.
On May 27th Jenipher Musisi semakula the Executive director of Kampala Capital city Authority wrote to Sebagala informing him to hand over all property belonging to the Authority all in vein.
Sebagala has scoffed at the accusation of Lukwago as mere drama claiming that he handed over before leaving office as city Mayor. Sebagala says it’s the responsibility of the people running the city to tress for the handover report.
He also laughed off Lukwago of being ignorant about the new Kampala Capital City Authority Act saying he has no powers to write to the speaker of parliament. Sebagala says as a Lord Mayor Lukwago has to report to the Executive Director of KCCA
