Experts warn new escalation of HIV/AIDS by 2016-2018

The international HIV/AIDS alliance Uganda has warned that the Eastern and southern African is yet to see the worst of the Aids pandemic despite recent gains made in access to ARTs.

The countries director Uganda network organization Leonard Okello has said there will be an escalation of new infections in the region between 2016 and 2018 as a result of embezzlement of donor funds, failure by governments to increase their funding to Aids campaign, lack of adequate capacity among civil society organization dealing with HIV/AIDS and increasing compliance.

Sector players are calling for the establishment of a social health scheme and AIDS first fund to kick start a Robusta Anti-Aids campaign.
