A number of new and old ministers have today started assuming their offices officially under huge commitment and promises.
The outgoing finance minister, Hon. Syda Bbumba while handing over to the in coming minister, Maria Kiwanuka, stressed the challenge of managing duties under little finances which tends to slow work in the ministry and other govt sectors.
But Bbumba also called upon Kiwanuka to be very smart when executing her duties as well as sticking to the policies and guide lines if she is to managed the sector.
The same ministry saw the coming in of Matia Kasaija as the minister for planning replacing Hon. Ephraim Kamuntu and Hon. Caroline Amali Okao as minister for micro finance replacing Hon. Ruth Nankabirwa.
And in the ministry of energy and mineral development, out going minister, Eng.Hilary Onek has cautioned the in coming minister, Eng. Irene Muloni over the many quack oil companies with fake licenses operating in the country and at the same evading taxes.
Its upon this matter that Onek advised Muloni to be tough and vigilant on such companies which want to exploit the country’s mineral resources without pay.
Muloni also accepted the big burden ahead of her which she pledges to work on mentioning increasing power capacity on the national grid to support the country which she says can only be done if her subjects exhibit high levels of transparency.
