Christians under the Makerere church on school have today Friday celebrated the Hero Alexander Mackey who they say is remembered for fighting against slave trade and spreading Christianity.

The Makerere day has been celebrated on the theme neglect of Christian values are source of violence insumanity at the Makerere memorial college in Natete.

According to the head teacher of the college Gertrude Sekabirwa the venue was selected to recognize Makerere contribution in education and development in the country. Sekabirwa adds that Makerere was a Scottish engineer who introduced the building of brick houses and first church in Natete
