Health experts are calling for government attention to the health crisis report in the Islands. Over the past few years government has committed to focusing on the health sector in the country to improve its performance.
In the new financial year a total of 995 billion shillings of the national budget has been allocated to the sector with emphasis on increasing funding for drugs and improving maternal health.
A health official working with health child Uganda Florence Gisingi says the standards of health centres on the islands is alarming and needs argent attention.
Gisingi reviled that some of the health centres have no drugs and have limited human resources which is posing a great threat to the lives of the patients. She is now appealing for special attention to be given to the islands.
