Uganda and Kenyan governments to sign return of Kenyan refuges

The government of Uganda is set to sign a tripartite agreement with the Kenya to facilitate the return of Kenyan refugees who fled to Uganda during the pick of 2007-2008 post election violence.

The refugees are currently living at Kiryandongo re-settlement camp in Masindi district.

Speaking during the commemoration of the world refugee day, the minister of state for disaster preparedness and refugee Mr. Musa Ecweru emphasized that the return is to be voluntary.

Ecweru warn other countries who pursue refugee in Uganda seeking to force them return home without following proper procedures.
