The Minister for local government Adolf Mwesige has dissolved the newly appointed Bukomansimbi district executive committee. Mwesige has ordered the LCV chairman Muhamad Katerega to nominate new members for the appointment on the executive.
Mwesige gave the directive yesterday as a result of discontent between the nominees on the district executive. Last week Katerega nominated 4 councilors to the Executive of the district.
The appointed councilors are Catharine Mukibi Kabite for the post of vice chairperson, Musa Mbazira secretary for finance and administration, Rehema Namato the secretary for production and secretary for gender, Ruth Mutenda.
Apart from Mbazira and Namato, the councilors rejected their appointment of Kabito and Mutenda. As a result NRM councilors and Solomon Sonko Bukomansimbi chief executive officer wrote to the local government minister for technical advice on how to resolve the discontent.
On Tuesday morning Adolf Mwesige rushed to Bukomansimbi to attend the extra ordinary council meeting in which Katerega was expected to swear in the rejected nominees.
The minister ordered Katerega to appoint new members to the Bukomansimbi district executive.
