The constitutional court shall tomorrow rule on whether the IGG should continue prosecuting the former Vice President Gilbert Bukenya or not.
The decision shall be issued by the 3 justices led by the deputy chief justice Alice Mpagi.
Prof. Bukenya petitioned the constitutional court challenging the constitutionality of the charged against him before the anti corruption court.
The charges relate to abuse of office and fraudulent practice, allegedly committed during CHOGM preparations.
Bukenya now wants the constitutional court to issue an injunction restraining the IGG from further prosecution till his constitutional petition is heard and disposed off.
In the petition, Bukenya contends that whatever he did in CHOGM preparations was not personal but delivered all orders from the office of the President.
He also says that Office of the Vice President has no independent mandate and gets all directives from the President.
He also claims that the constitution protects the office of the President from persecution for any actions done in an official capacity
