The minister of Relief and Disaster Preparedness Musa Ecweru has revealed plans by the government to issue directives to all public building owners across the country to install lightening arresters on their buildings as one of the measures to save people’s lives in case of lightening strikes
Ecweru says that building owners who will fail to comply will be forced to close until they install lightening rods which arrest the lightening and transport it to the ground without harming the building or people.
Meanwhile, the minister of Information and National Guidance, Mary Karoro Okurut has told journalists that the government has today transferred lightening victims from Kiryandongo to Mulago hospital for more treatment since they were in poor health conditions.
