A 30 year old man who was rushed to Buhinga regional referral hospital after he was shot by a prisons warden who was on duty at Katojo has died.
The police have identified the deceased as Mwesige Muhammad a resident of Kitembe in Rwengoma west division fort portal municipality.
Mugga Bakari the western region police spokesperson says the deceased was shot on Wednesday night when he had gone to steal maize from Katojo government prisons farm.
Bakari says the late Muhammad was shot when he engaged Mukasa Jackson a prison’s warden in a scuffle on trying to arrest him.
Meanwhile police is still hunting for the wife of the deceased who according to investigations had gone with her husband to steal but later escaped on hearing the gun shots.
