The business community operating from Red House located at fort portal main market Mpanga was yesterday left desperate after the east division authorities locked up the building due to poor sanitation.

Red House that is comprised of bars, eating joints among other happening places hosts over 200 people every day but has no latrines which the east division authorities say is a threat to people’s lives.

William Magezi the east division chairperson says the area land lord Emmanuel developed a disagreement with the division authorities when he was informed about the poor sate of hygiene.

Magezi said the division’s actions come amidst fears of cholera breakout in the area.
