The opposition Democratic Party has promised to help government raise funds to fight famine in the country.
The party’s spokesperson Kenneth Paul Kakande says DP is concerned about the looming threat of famine in the country and that government is not taking action.
Last month media reports showed two people who had died of hunger in Bulamburi district found in the Eastern part of the country due to the long spell of drought that hit the region.
Kakande calls upon the ministry of disaster preparedness to take immediate action before more lives are loss.
