National Resistance Movement (NRM) youth league has attacked a section of youths within the party purporting to be youth leaders.
The attack follows a news conference some NRM youth leaders addressed to attack what the league described as an attack to the person of the president over meeting vendors, bodaboda riders among others.
Addressing a news conference at the NRM communications bureau in Kampala, National chairman of the NRM youth league Dennis Namara cautioned the public against some youth masquerading as leaders of the youth.
The league leadership argue that the president is mandated to meet them by virtual of his title as president and also NRM chairman to mobilize support for the party.
Namara cited the Wakiso district chairman Sewaava Mukasa as one of the masqueraders going around to solicit bribes from mainly the business community so that he can co-ordinate them to meet the president.
He says the NRM party has a clear youth leadership structures that are competed for and elective through a process at National conferences as per the party constitution.
Namara accused Sewaava of masquerading as a national co-coordinator yet such post is nonexistent in the NRM constitution.
