The minister of state for people with disability and elderly Suleiman Kyebakuza Madada has advised journalists to work together with the government if they are to get laws that are favorable to them.
Addressing journalists during a half day briefing of MPS on Uganda’s media laws Madada said that government is willing to work with the media and therefore journalists have to be mobilized.
He says that the media plays a big role in the society and therefore no government can survive without the media.
Madada however says that the media organizations do not want to follow some procedures in presenting their grievances and this is how some laws come out in a way that is not friendly to the media.
He said that journalists should identify allies in government and use them to advocate for their cause.
