The government of Uganda has been ugued to increase funding for pupils within the government aided schools to avert the problem of closing before the standard given time of the term.
The Uganda national teachers union chairperson Margret Rwabushaiza Namubiru says given the economic crisis the country is going through, government should allocate additional funds to facilitate the day to day running of the schools.
Rwabushaiza revealed that most government schools are likely to close before the standard time due to limited funds to meet the normal term period.
Earlier this term, government issued a statement warning all government aided schools under UPE and USE not to make any mistake and increase the school dues because of high inflation figures in the country.
But many schools have reported they are unable to afford food and other scholastic materials given the ever increases prices of goods and services they need in running the schools.
