Uganda has joined the rest of the world to commemorate world Hepatitis day.
According to statistics over 12000 are affected and 200 people die of the disease every year with the northern region taking the lead in Uganda.
Officiating at the commemorations of the would hepatitis day the minister of Health Dr. Ondoa Christine says that they have launched immunisation with the medical practitioners because Hepatitis is on a very high increase among the medical personnel’s.
She adds that this will reduce the spread of hepatitis among the patients since health attendants are always in contacts with the patients..
Meanwhile Ondoa has advised Ugandans to focus on the preventive measure such as take very well boiled and cooked foods as well as making sure that they leave in clean environment a move that she said will improve the spread of hepatitis A and
She also advised the people to avoid the contacts with body fluids of the person affected with hepatitis.
Hepatitis is commemorated every 28th day of July world wide.
