The High court has denounced the Democratic Party President, Norbert Mao’s leadership
on grounds that the meeting that brought him in power was convened unlawfully.
The court has also asked that the whole party executive committee be censured and have a fresh elections and appointment of the executive committee.
In the final ruling made on a case filed by a group of six party members led by Ochieng on 26th of October 2009, Justice Yorokamu Bamwine quashed the current DP leadership and ordered them not to organize any party meeting since they don’t have powers to do so.
One of the staunch party members and former presidential aspirant, Samuel Walter Lubega Mukaku who is happy with the ruling says the ruling has exposed the undemocratic characters that have been leading the party with ill intension of pulling it down.
