The Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi has inspected the Ugandan Twin-tower office block that is to house the office of the President and that of the Prime Minister.
Construction of the twin-tower which is nearly incompletion at plot 9-11 Apolo Kagwa road in Kampala was funded with
30 million US dollar grant from the Chine’s government.
It is expected to ease rental charges and billion of shillings per year for the office the president and that of the prime minister.
The premier was conducted around the modern office complex by the minister of works and transport Engineer Abraham Byandala and the commissioner for public structures in the ministry Harry Kazahura.
Mbabazi said the construction was a clear example of utilization of space in Kampala city. The construction site formally had a Bungalow accommodating the police criminal investigation department and the Interpol.
Byandala said the project agreement involves Chine providing 25 million US dollars for the construction of the twin tower and the Uganda government meeting tax component and utility cost for the project.
China will additionally procure and install the required furniture and information communication technology equipments bringing a total project to 30 million US dollars in Chinese grant Aid.

Others facilities include a cabinet rooms, 100 staff seat capacity restaurant, close satellite camera security systems, smoke detectors and fire fighting equipments among others.
