The ministry of Health is devising means of cutting on wastage of resources in a bid to improve medical supplies and better service delivery of the sector.
Opening the Review conference on the implementation of the sector’s work plan, the Health Minister Christine Ondoa said that the ministry is to come up with a strategy to cut on the time and financial costs spend on travels and numerous workshops
Ondoa says many of the District health officials are engaged in workshops instead of attending to the critical issues of delivery health services to the population.
She further explains that all travels abroad by Health Officials are to be sanctioned by her office and that of the Prime minister.
Meanwhile Ondoa dismissed media reports that the country faces a shortage of Antiretroviral Drugs, saying the reports were based complaints by patients in Mubende and Masaka Districts which was a de delay due to administrative issues.
