The two nations of Kenya and Uganda have laid down nine points to follow as they move towards solving the long standing Migingo island problem.
In a joint ministerial meeting held on the 25th and 26th of JULY 2011 in Nairobi, the head of the two delegations, Hon. Prof. Goerge Saitoti who acts as the foreign affairs minister for Kenya and his counterpart Hon. Sam Kutesa held consultations on various issues relating to the exercise agreeing on a number of issues.
They include surveying already done work, submission of the work already done by both nation team, a joint survey team identifies the islands and physical features described in 1926 order council among others.
According to Uganda’s Minister of Land Daidi Migereko, the two nations are now going to fulfill what had been reached on in the Kampala communiqué on 13th/March/2009 and the Nairobi communiqué on 11th/May/2009.
