Ugandans are among the leaders in those who invested in the British American IPO which closed Friday Afternoon.
The company based in Kenya decided to offer shares for their British America Investment Company to the public on the Nairobi Stock Exchange.
Benson Wairegi, the CEO of the company says they expect to raise enough money from the IPO offer to boost their expansion strategy.
He says many people in Uganda, South Africa and United Kingdom responded to the IPO offer which he says will be fully subscribed when all stock brokers bring in their reports.
“We are confident of a full subscription, given our track record of profitability, good management and expansion strategy,” Wairegi said.
The British American share has been going for 9 Kenya shillings (about 259 Uganda shillings) and one had to purchase a minimum of 2,000 shares.
