The MP for Manafa district, Sara Netarisire is questioning the competence of the metrology department which she accuses of feeding the country with false information on climate patterns.

Netarisire says most of the weather predictions by the Metrology department do not come to pass and end up misleading nationals mainly those engaged in agriculture.

She says, the department is ill equipped, under staffed with unqualified personnel to be able to deliver reliable weather information.

The minister of Disaster Preparedness, Musa Ecweru admits the department needs improvement, saying the government is planning to re-equip the department with modern machines and staff it.
