The Uganda rural electrification agency has urged parliament to increase on their budget to enable them extending services to the people at the ground.
Appearing before natural resources committee chaired by Mike Welikhe,the Uganda rural electrification agency executive director Godfrey Turyahikayo told MPs that REA receives only 15 billion shillings annually but the money is not enough compared to the services needed the by people.
Turyahiokayo revealed that REA needs at least 50 billion shilling annually to enable them beat the challenges faced by the company in extending electrify in rural areas.
Meanwhile MPs sitting on natural resources committee agreed to lobby for more funds for REA from government to help them extending power supply in rural area simply.
The MPs says REA has been noted as an organisation that does not miss use tax payers money allocated for projects.
