The police in Ngai out post have arrested two old women for their alleged involvement of possessing and selling illicit drugs to locals in Ngai Trading centre in Oyam District.

The old women identified as Hilder Ajwang and Margret Awule Opio all residents of Tee-Cik village in Ngai Sub County were yesterday found selling marijuana to some youths.

Both women pleaded guilty to the offence but Margret Awule Opio asked for pardon saying that she is a poor woman and too old to be confined in the police cells adding that she is a guardian to a child suffering with epilepsy.

Meanwhile, Hilder Ajwang who also asked for pardon said she was not selling marijuana but being a native doctor she was only giving the illicit drugs to her clients who have mental problems as a medication.

The area LCI Chairman Opee Ajak confirmed the arrests and thanked the police for their action saying that this trade had increased acts of crimes and idleness amongst the youths.

Ngai police out post OC John Atebok says that both women will be transferred to Oyam Central Police Station from where  they will be produced before court and if found guilty they will be charged of illegal possession of drugs.
