If you had thought that Vice President Edward Sekandi’s seat in parliament is safe after Jude Mbabaali, the Bukoto Central parliamentary election loser withdrew a petition he had filed against Sekandi, better read this.
Mbabaali, a top official in the Democratic Party, says he is going to petition Masaka High Court again seeking the nullification of Ssekandi’s election as Bukoto Central MP on ground that the exercise was not free and fair.
Mbabbaali says that Sekandi has not fulfilled what they agreed upon before he withdrew the case recently.
The DP man alleges that Ssekandi violated the parliamentary elections Act when he used government vehicles during campaigns.
Mbabaali also alleges that Ssekandi connived with Tugume Mugisha, the former Masaka district returning officer to alter the results from KaboneraSub County, where the petitioner had allegedly defeated the VP with more than 2000 votes.
Mbabaali further accuses Ssekandi of voter bribery in Kyanamukaaka by distributing money, food and alcohol.
