The government is set to appoint different spokespersons for specific sectors as move geared towards improving its communication and information flow to the populace.
Addressing special meeting with members of the Parliamentary Reporters, the Prime Minister Amama Mbabazi said that government is considering taking on strategic reforms in its communication framework that will include appointment of sectoral spokespersons as to ensure to effective communication to the public.
Mbabazi stressed the need for good co-operation between government departments and the media to ensure the public gets accurate and timely information on its programs and policies since communication is vital for social and economic transformation of society.
Members of the Uganda Parliamentary Press Association led by their President Agnes Nandutu told the prime Minister and his entire team that there is need for the media fraternity to easily access of Information on National matters for the improve their work.
Mbabazi pledged that government would endeavor to explain its bills, policies, and programs with expert knowledge to better interpretation for the public.
