An envoy of European Union, Nick Westcott visited Uganda this week and asked the government of Ugandato always take human rights as a top most priority to respect. He holds a doctorial degree in agricultural economics and a PhD in African studies from the Universityof Cambridge.
Westcott became the managing director for Africain the European Union External action Service in February 2011. Before his appointment, Westcott was the British High Commissioner to Ghana and Ambassador to Cote d’lvoire, Niger, Burkina Faso and Togo from 2008 to 2011.
He is not new in East Africa. Westcott was the Deputy British High Commissioner in Tanzania and a researcher at the University of Dares- Salaam. He is so popular in Africa and he speaks English, Swahili and French among other languages spoken in East Africa.
