Makerere University Guild campaigns are slated to start next week. Makerere University guild cabinet and students parliament was dissolved last Friday to pave way for the electoral process of the next cabinet.

The chairperson of Makerere electoral commission, Deogratious Kirya says he will respect the constitution of Makerere University during the guild campaigns.

“I will perform up to my expectation. All candidates and students should not expect me to be biased with any candidate,” Kirya says.

Kirya says that nomination of guild candidates kicks off next week and that his office expects over 10 candidates to turn up for nominations.

Kirya assures the students community that the campaigns would be violent free and that the university administration has availed all the monies needed to run the campaigns.
