Groups of homosexuals in Kampala have started organising homosexuals’ conferences in different parts of the country. The development follows the drama that ensued at Imperial Resort Beach Hotel in Entebbe on Wednesday when the State Minister for Ethics and Integrity, Simon Lokodo broke up a secret gay rights conference in Entebbe.
A source among the gays in Uganda has told us that groups of gays in Europe and USA have channeled millions of money to Freedom and Roam Uganda, an association that lobbies for the recognition of same sex marriage in Uganda to organise gay rights conferences and activities across the country.
Gay rights activities in Uganda are illegal. Uganda laws and cultures do not accept homosexuality.
However minister Lokodo has warned hotels and conference halls against accepting homosexual conferences to take place under their roof.
