Uganda Cranes failed to fly today as they fell to Congo Brazzaville in their first leg match of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifier march.
Although Bobby Williamson put up what was believed to be the best line up for the Afcon engagement against Congo Brazzaville, the Uganda Cranes lost 3-1.
Fabris Odama put Congo’s Red Devils in front before Mike Serumaga restored parity for the visiting Uganda Cranes.
But the home side soon got a penalty which was well converted and the weakened Ugandan Cranes team succumbed to another goal.
The Cranes finished the game 10 on the pitch after midfielder Tonny Mawejje was red carded.
The Cranes will now have to concentrate on getting a similar or better result in the return leg in Kampala this June.
The Uganda lineup included Andrew Mwesigwa as Captain, Dennis Onyango, Simeone Massa, Godfrey Walusimbi, Henry Kalungi, Hassan Wasswa Biruma, Moses Oloya, Tony Mawejje, Geofrey Serunkuma, Mike Serumaga and Habib Kavuma.
The Reserves include Dhaira Abbey, Mudde Musa, Okwi Emmanuel, Umony Brian, Wagaluka Dan, Ochan Patrick and Mutumba Kayongo.
