Tears rolled down the faces of a woman and her daughter when the police medical report revealed that the man who raped them on Wednesday was HIV positive.
The thief broke into their room on Wednesday and tied her on the bed she was sleeping on and raped her. The thief then turned to her 10-year-old daughter and gave her two times as the terrified mother looked on.
The thief afterwards walked away with the woman’s money and mobile phone. The police detectives visited the home of the victims after the woman reported the matter to aKampalabased police station.
The police investigations led to the arrest of the woman’s neighbour, Robert Niyonzima. The suspect confessed having rapped the woman and her daughter while claiming that he acted under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
However the woman broke down and cried bitterly after the man who raped them was discovered to be HIV positive. The doctors who tested the woman and her daughter said that the thief might have impregnated them because the woman and her daughter were found ripe to be pregnant.
