Northern Sudanese’s bombardment on key security positions of Southern Sudan have increased since weekend. Some cases of death have been registered on both sides and hundreds of civilians have been displaced.
News reporters in Heglig report that Northern Sudanese warplanes bomb South Sudanese positions and at the moment property worth millions of US dollars have been reportedly destroyed.
Much of the fighting is in South Kordofan, White Nile, Sennar, Panakuach, Wedakona, Upper Nile state and in Heglig according to South Sudanese army spokesman, Philip Aguer.
The African Union last week directed Northern Sudan and Southern Sudan to stop the fighting within 48 hours, but since that time violence and waves of air strikes on Southern military positions has continued.
