Many people react differently whenUgandapolice officers come to their homes, workplace or place of worship.
One doesn’t need to answer questions when arrested byUgandapolice. S/he arrested by police should tell the officers who have arrested him/her that you need to speak to a lawyer first.
When one is asked to meet with any police officer for an interrogation, any person has a right to decline to be interrogated. It’s your right to answer questions on specific topic/s.
However it is not good to resist arrest even if one believes the arrest is unfair. It is someone’s right to remain silent and ask for a lawyer immediately. And if one can not pay for a lawyer, that person has the right to a free one. Anyone arrested by police has a right to make phone calls.
