Supporters of opposition parties at the Pentecostal University in Fort-Portal in western Uganda are facing dismissal or persecution by their University Authorities for having engaged in partisan politics.
The Guild President of Pentecostal University and his Speaker were yesterday forced to step down, and one of the guild leaders suspended for a year, while 34 others are on the list to be disciplined for having declared to be supporters of Forum for Democratic Change (FDC).
The University disciplinary committee met on Tuesday to discipline more students. It is rumoured that the Vice Chancellor, chancellor and most of the leaders of the Pentecostal University were recently frustrated when they lost the Guild President polls to FDC in two universities (Mountains of the Moon and Pentecostal).
But if University Students can be persecuted, what about rural people who are trying to access Bank loans? It seems Ugandans need to condemn all sorts of injustices in our society.
