Causes of hives

Hives are medically known as urticaria and they are raised white or yellow bumps surrounded by red, inflamed patches of skin.

They usually cause the burning sensation at first, which soon gives way to intense itching. The course of hives is unpredictable but its causes are the following:

Response to an allergen, response to irritant, certain drugs especially antibiotics and aspirin, infectious agent and poor digestion.
