Many people around the world were yesterday left wondering how a human being can fall down and cry bitterly over the death of an animal. This is what happened among the communities staying around Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in Western Uganda.
People in their hundreds were seen yesterday crying over the death of a mountain gorilla. The sources working at Uganda’s Wildlife Authority (UWA) identified the dead mountain gorilla as Ruhondeza which was aged 55 years.
The animal died on June 27th while it was in a sleep. The dead mountain gorilla was habituated by Uganda government in 1991.
At the burial of the gorilla, the minister for tourism was seen in a group of the people sobbing over the dead animal. It was buried in Buhoma village at a funeral that was attended by officials from the ministry of tourism, and area local council leaders.
