Something funny has happened to Makerere University Council to KCCA, Bernard Luyiga. Some councilors in the council are blaming him for having shared the KCCA Budget information to the public. Luyiga confirms that he revealed the budget information to the public and wondered which laws of Uganda he broke by giving out the budget information to the public.

He says that his views of objecting to the proposal of holding the KCCA budget meetings from a hotel in Entebbe is the basis on which some of the city councilors base on to castigate him.

The KCCA councilors want Bernard Luyiga to explain why he leaked this information to the public and apologise to the council for that matter. But Luyiga says that apologizing to the council on the subject is really out of Order!

“ I know the laws of Uganda and international laws very well. No one will intimidate me into submission. I know some of my friends are KCCA councilors/politicians and I hope they get my stand! I will not apologize for having brought this matter to the attention of the Public. One thing I have to say. I stand my ground and won’t retract what I shared with the Public,” Luyiga states

“This is freedom of speech. I am ready for any consequences if fellow councilors deem it fit for me to be subjected to any disciplinary measure. For God and My Country just continue to do what you think is good for the people , maybe they lucked what to say in council and wanted to build on you.”
