Forum for Democratic Change has urged former IGG Raphael Baku to step aside to give room for investigations into his alleged corruption scandal.
Baku is being probed by police for purchasing two plots of land worth 5 billion shillings in a questionable manner.
Police says that Baku did not follow the Public Procurement and Disposal of Assets Act (PPDA) to buy the land located on plot 24/26 on Clement Hill road and Plot 71/74 on Yusuf Lule road.
The land in question on which Baku wants to build the Inspectorate’s headquarter’s belonged to Posta Uganda.
Speaking to reporters during the party’s weekly press briefing at their headquarters in Najanankumbi, the FDC Deputy Spokesperson
Toterebuka Bamwenda says it’s embarrassing that the person who has been accusing others for being corrupt is also being implicated in corruption scandals.
He says if Baku wants to prove his innocence, he should step aside and allow investigations into these allegations.
Meanwhile Bamwenda has cautioned public servants in higher offices to always work within the law because they will be answerable to for actions.
