In the entire Bukoto South constituency of 66 polling stations, Mathias Nsubuga scored 12071 of the total votes cast and Alintuma Nsambu got 10408 of the total votes cast.
The Democratic Party candidate beat Nsambu with a margin of 1663 votes. By the time this story was filed Nsubuga was already declared by the electoral commission as the duly elected Member of Parliament for Bukoto South constituency. The seat had fallen vacant after the court nullified the election victory of Hajji Mbabali Muyanja of NRM.
The Bukoto South race attracted four candidates Mathias Nsubuga (DP), Alintuma Nsambu of NRM, Julius Sentamu of FDC and Dan Katula (Independent).
