President Museveni has joined the members of the Muslim community to mourn the Deputy supreme Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Hakim Sekimpi.
Sheikh Sekimpi mysteriously died last Thursday night at Kibuli Muslim Hospital. Sheikh Hakim Sekimpi was every close and a friend to late Sheikh Abdul Karim Sentamu who was shot dead in April 2012 in Kampala.
Museveni in his message described Sheikh Sekimpi as one of the Muslim icons in Uganda who the members of the Muslim community across the world have missed.
In space of only four months, the breakaway Muslim faction has lost over three prominent sheikhs including Sheikh Senatamu, Hajji Kiweewa and now Sheikh Sekimpi.
The rumours have it that Sekimpi could have been poisoned by the enemies of Muslims. Museveni sent condolences to the Supreme Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Zubair Kayomgo, and all Muslims. May his soul rest in eternal peace!
