Police have arrested a man who claims that he killed his wife because she had stolen his money. The Kabale district OC CID, Tobias Mbonekirwe has identified the man behind the murder as Dominic Twinomuhangi, 50, the Chairman of the business community in Kabale District.

The police say that the suspect accused his wife Asasira Twinomuhangi, 45, of witchcraft and attempting to steal his property documents and money. In the quarrel, the fighting erupted and she died.
The OC CID confirmed that the suspect was still in police cells in Kabahanga, Mwanjari ward as investigations into his case continue. The CID says that the suspect confessed having killed his wife but he had no intention of killing her.

The body of the deceased been removed from Kabale Regional Referral Hospital for burial. The OC has urged people to stop taking the law in their hands.
